Are Robots the Solution to Caring for the Elderly and Aging?

As more of the population ages, will there be enough workers to care for everybody? This is an issue that individuals and institutions around the world are grappling with.

Japan is working on a solution fueled by tech: carerobos, a name for robots who care for individuals.  The solutions today are in their infancy, but Softbank’s Pepper robot (as shown in our header) and companies like Cyberdyne are leading the charge.

They are expensive today, but as technology develops, should be more affordable solutions for nursing homes, facilities, hospitals, and maybe even individuals.
